Training Standards and Quality Assurance
First Aid Swindon delivers all first aid training in line with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommendations and guidance. Our courses are designed and delivered in accordance with current best practice standards for first aid training in the UK.
Course content, delivery methods, and class sizes are structured to ensure effective learning while taking into account the needs, abilities, and capabilities of all participants.
Instructor Qualifications and Expertise
All First Aid Swindon instructors are fully qualified to a high professional standard and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current HSE guidance, first aid protocols, and training methodologies.
Our trainers bring real-world experience of first aid emergencies into the classroom, enhancing practical understanding and learner confidence.
Each instructor has:

Completed a recognised first aid trainer qualification

Achieved a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or higher, enabling delivery of training in post-16 education environments

Ongoing professional development in line with HSE recommendations
Some instructors also hold advanced teaching qualifications, including a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Quality Assurance and Monitoring
We operate a robust quality assurance system, which is available for client inspection upon request.
This includes:

Regular review of trainer and assessor competence

Annual assessment of instructional skills

Ongoing in-house training and standardisation

A designated individual responsible for quality assurance oversight
Course Evaluation and Record Keeping
We maintain documented procedures covering:

Course evaluations and learner feedback after every course

A formal complaints procedure

Secure retention of learner assessment records for a minimum of three years following course completion

Provision of sufficient, well-maintained training equipment
-
Structured course delivery ensuring required contact hours are met
Where courses are delivered in blocks, training and assessment are completed within the following maximum timeframes:

First Aid at Work (3-day): within 10 weeks
-
FAW Requalification (2-day): within 6 weeks
-
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW): within 3 weeks
Training blocks are no shorter than two hours in duration.
Reasonable Adjustments and Accessibility
We are committed to inclusive training practices.
Where learners have communication, learning, or physical difficulties, we will make reasonable adjustments to support their training experience. However, during formal summative assessments, candidates must independently demonstrate the required first aid competencies without assistance, in line with awarding body and HSE requirements.

Delivered over one day

Emergency First Aid at Work Requalification

Same syllabus and duration as the initial EFAW course
